When doing tai chi we guide our movements with the mind, very slowly, to synchronize them. This method allows us to feel what is actually happening in our body when it starts to move. This is when we discover, with much surprise, how much tension we carry in our daily life. This awareness allows us to correct our posture which will reduce overall tension and in turn increase our awareness. Once this loop is set in motion, we start our journey on a never ending path that will bring us better health and a clearer mind. Then we can choose either the path of martial skills and self defense or personal growth and well being. Movement originates from feelings, and feelings from awareness.
